What is Functional Medicine?

Functional orMedicine is a branch of medicine that focuses on interactions between the environment and the gastrointestinal, endocrine, and immune systems in order to prevent or reverse chronic disease such as type-2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension, obesity, metabolic/insulin resistance syndrome, osteoporosis and many types of cancer. What is your approach at treating Orthopedic or Sports Injuries?

We aim to get an accurate diagnosis of the painful part but more importantly we assess and discover the overall breakdown of the global mechanics. Once this is done a plan of corrective exercises can be create and taught to the patient. We monitor closely and if progression is not as expected, we will refer to a specialist.

 

What is your approach to working with people who are interested in loosing and maintaining a loss of body weight?

We see weight gain and obesity as a disease that has resulted from the body’s systems that are out of balance. We treat the person and discover their oveall health lifestyle goals and then create an individualized plan for them.

 

Do you take insurance?

We take most PPOs and Medicare. We will look at your individual clinical needs, verify your insurance coverage for the services you need and then create an individual financial program.

 

I don’t have PPO insurance or Medicare. How can I get services?
